Depending on your settings and power connection, Parking Mode can work in different ways:

How to Enable Parking Mode?

This feature only activates when your dash cam is connected to a hardwire kit.

ACC Hardwire Kit Installation & Usage Guide

1. How to Install a Hardwire Kit? (Step-by-Step)

Before starting, please take a few minutes to read the user manual carefully, watch the installation video, or contact FREEXAR Customer Support if you have any questions.
If you’re new to car electronics or not confident in handling wiring, we strongly recommend seeking help from a professional installer. This ensures the installation is both safe and reliable, and helps you get the best performance out of your dash cam.

Step 1:Find the Fuse Box

Locate the interior fuse box (usually under the dashboard or near the glove compartment).

Step 2:Identify Fuse Slots

• Yellow Wire (B+) → Connect to Constant Power (always has 12V even when the car is off).
• Red Wire (ACC) → Connect to Ignition Power (only has power when the ignition is ON).
• Black Wire (GND) → Connect to a clean metal grounding point on the vehicle chassi

Step 3: Find the correct fuse slot for your hardwire kit:

① Fuse with 12V–30V constant power
② ACC (Ignition) fuse

How to test with a test light (circuit tester)
1.Turn off the car and take out the key.
2.Clip the tester to a clean metal screw or bolt on the car body (ground).
3.Touch the metal tip of the tester to both sides of a fuse:
• If the light turns on when the car is OFF, it’s Constant Power (B+).
• If the light only turns on after you turn the key to ACC, it’s the ACC fuse.
4.Mark both fuse slots — one for Constant Power, one for ACC.

Step 4:Connect to car fuse

1.Remove the original fuse from the selected slot (ACC or Constant Power).
2.Insert the our Fuse assembly firmly into the tested ACC or Constant Power fuse slot.
• Yellow Wire (B+) → Connect to Constant Power.
• Red Wire (ACC) → Connect to Ignition Power .
• Black Wire (GND) → Connect to a clean metal grounding point on the vehicle chassis.

Step 5: Test Your Installation

1.Power On Test
Insert the Type-C connector into the dash cam and start the vehicle ignition. Wait for the dash cam to power on.

Note: If the dash cam does not power on, check all cable connections. If the issue persists, please contact Freexar Customer Service for assistance.

2.Parking Mode Setup
• After the ACC hardwire installation is completed, the Parking Mode option will appear in the dash cam menu.
• Open the dash cam menu and enable Parking Mode to activate this feature.

3.ACC Power-Off Test
Once the dash cam is on, turn off the engine and remove the key to check if the dash cam powers off or enters Parking Mode.

2. Two Parking Mode Options

① G-Sensor Parking Monitoring:

When the vehicle is turned off and experiences an impact or vibration, the dash cam automatically records and saves a 20-second video clip as evidence.
Note: Parking surveillance is activated by the G-Sensor’s impact detection, not by motion detection.

② Time-Lapse Recording Mode:

In parking mode, the dash cam captures one frame per second to create a fast-playback video. You can set the recording duration to 8, 12, or 24 hours, providing extended protection for your vehicle.

3. Battery Protection, Troubleshooting & Common Questions

Will Parking Mode drain my car battery?

Freexar Hardwire Kits include low-voltage protection. The FREEXAR ACC Hardwire Kit will monitor your voltage status and cut-off the power to the dashcam if the voltage drops below the configured value. This minimum voltage cut-off is 11.8V DC for a 12v DC battery and 23.6V DC for a 24V DC battery. This protects the vehicle’s battery. And reserves enough power so you can start your car for the next time.

Parking Mode Duration
In parking mode, your dash cam can typically operate for about 3–6 days, depending on your vehicle’s battery capacity and how frequently motion or vibration is detected.

Important Notes:

  1. Do not reverse the yellow and red wires — doing so may cause parking mode malfunction or battery drain.
  2. If your vehicle will be parked for over 48 hours, we recommend disabling parking mode or unplugging the ACC Hardwire Kit.
